Western Australia Aboriginal Wunda Shield-Aboriginal Art-Oceanic Art
It would be hard to beat the refinement of this Western Australian wunda shield. It is super thin and composed of precisely grooved parallel zig-zag lines in-filled with white and red pigments. The backside is equally beautiful with deeply cut vertical lines and a raised handle showing real wear. The piece dates to the early 20th century or before, is 30 ¼” (76.7 cm) in height.
