Central Desert Australian Aboriginal Bullroarer-Aboriginal Art-Oceanic Art
This fine and classic Australian aboriginal Central Desert bullroarer comes from the collection of the British anthropologist Anthony Forge—one of my heros. You can read about him in the PROVENANCE section of the website. This bullroarer has a number of classic Central Desert concentric circle motifs and daubs of white paint over the red ochre surface. The piece dates to the late 19th/early 20th century, is 19 5/8” (49.7 cm) in height.
