Kanak Club-Melanesian Art-Oceanic Weapon
Ah yes, the beauty of a length of wood lovingly carved with the sole intent of crushing someone’s skull. This one from New Caledonia has a hefty, knobbed head and a lengthy grip of fine sennit fiber. The patina is glossy with golds and browns. The club dates to the late 19th century, is 24 ½” (62.1 cm).
